Karianne is a young, vibrant and versatile vocalist.
Originally from Trondheim, Norway, her professional training includes Broadway Dance Centre (NY) and she is an alumni of Sir Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.
Most recently Karianne was a lead vocalist with VIKING, experiencing the fusion of global cultures that helped shape her next musical adventures. A voice as equally at home on stage as in the studio, Karianne has played roles in theatre shows, pantomimes, and headlined countless live events. Transcending many musical genres, her “crystal clear” voice “soaring effortlessly” through the melody has entertained people from almost every corner of the globe.
Karianne has appeared in our events for several years. She is not only a singer but a real artist. Her performance is strong and she catches the audience with her voice, artistic appearance and hits from the present as well as old classics. You can be sure that she sets a good mood for your event.

Blackburn International [BI] were contracted by Viking Cruises to provide all of production entertainment for the entire Viking Ocean fleet as from 2017. This includes the provision of all of the entertainment production staff [x4 Production Vocalists per ship] and all of the Production Shows on each of their x6 ships.
We have been blessed to have been graced by the hugely talented Karianne Kvalen for two contracts. Firstly on board the Viking Sun between April 24th and November 1st 2018, and then subsequently on board the Viking Orion between June 5th and November 15th 2019. If she ever decided to ‘run away again to sea’ we would welcome her back at any time in the future ....
Karianne has a wealth of talents – both performance and personal. She has a wonderful warm and rich voice with considerable range and depth. She can adapt to numerous styles bringing a sincerity and signature depth of feeling to each – she is not often caught out! The ability to perform and present in more than one language is an extra addition to her considerable talents.
During her second contract with us she acted as our Company Manager – a role that she performed with diligence and care. She took her other cast members under her wing and guided them thru the contract with humour and professionalism.
On a personal level Karianne is wise beyond her years. She is a deep thinker – analytical and measured. I would, and did, trust her judgement over most. She can be joyously playful but never ‘misses the point’.
